Grab a Light Pole, Let’s Slay Dragons Tour 2019-2020
We had been struggling to find a new name for our tour this last year. Some of you may know that as we began the new “tour year”, our drummer Joe found out he was in for a battle…leukemia. Not only is Joe an excellent drummer (and bass player, and…, and…, and…), but he could be a stand up comedian! When Joe graciously agreed to become part of the Drama Junkies, the dark corners (okay…well lit corners) at Perkins in the wee hours after shows had become giggle fests and guffaws surrounding his stories and one-liners. Well, now he’s often found doing stand up for nurses and doctors and specialists and visitors. One of the interesting things he did this year was to post a series featuring music called “grab a light pole, let’s slay dragons”. What does that mean anyway? Who cares…it’s cute… (oops, I used that word). We’re borrowing your title Joe, because we miss you, and we’re rooting for you, praying for you, sending all the positive vibes we can muster for you.
We’ve been very grateful for the awesome drummers who have stepped in to help us out while Joe is off slaying dragons. So we skipped a title last year, but there were some pretty amazing highlights: Moondance Jammin’ Country Fest, Worthington Windsurfing Regatta & Music Festival, Nisswa Freedom Fest, Twin Cities Harley Davidson of Blaine’s Hogtoberfest, and a bunch of really amazing nights at venues and dance floors all around Minnesota.
So check out our tour page for a schedule and grab a light pole, because we’re playing music on a stage somewhere near you that will make you want to slay dragons, (but not the cute little dragons like in the How to Train Your Dragons movies! More like figurative dragons… you know… bad dragons…Why is the volume fading?…Hello? Hey!) Anyway, we’ll see you out on the dance floor!
